PeterN 5 Very accurate. Reads the same as two high quality digital gauges I compared it to.Analog gauges may appear to provide a less accurate readout than a digital number with three or more digits. But within the confidence of the measurement itself, and when the analog dial and needle is as clear and high resolution as this one, it effectively gives just as accurate a reading. And it does so without concerns about batteries getting old, being dead and leaking. Most analog/mechanical gauges aren't this precise and accurate anymore, since the demanding scientific and industrial users who once required them to be, are now mostly computerized. So analog/mechanical ones tend to leave a lingering doubt about whether what they read, can really be relied upon. But when the devices are this good, unless you need printouts, memory and data recording, I find them superior to digital, electronic versions. The rest of the device is similarly high quality. Everything fits exactly and goes on and off quickly and without any binding or slop. Just a very fast and pleasant to use tool which seems like it will last forever even in rough usage.
